Parlor is a blind exquisite corpse poetry project edited by Sarah Jean Alexander. Parlor seeks the similarities and contrasts between writers as they create a single poem with two voices.
Poems are formatted in an A-B-A formula. The 'first' writer begins the poem based on a title prompt given by the editor. The 'second' writer receives only the beginning and last lines of their partner's initial piece, and follows up with the middle portion. The 'first' writer finishes the poem in a similar fashion. The writers involved do not know the complete context of the poem or who their partners are until the poem is complete and the issue is released.
Contributions to Parlor are currently solicited.
